This website aims to give you a flavour of the high standards and extensive menu of opportunity and achievement that the children of our school enjoy and experience every day.
St Eugene’s has a very long history (170 years) of meeting and serving the needs of children in the heart of one of Derry City’s oldest communities. We are a loving, caring, diverse and inclusive family-oriented school where the whole community share the common goal of supporting each child to do their very best. We hold the title ‘School of Sanctuary’ since 2020 and we were winners of the Northwest Migrant's Forum 'Anti-Racism School of the Year' award for 2025. We welcome children of all cultures, faiths and backgrounds.
We are proud holders of the 'Green Flag' for commitment to sustainable lifestyles. Most recently, in October 2025, we have been awarded the Sustrans Gold award for active travel.
