Fact Finding February

6th Feb 2026

P2 enjoyed a visit to the library, where they used their library cards to scan out and borrow their own fact books. The children explored how fact books work, learning about their key features such as a contents page, how you can jump to different pages instead of reading from start to finish, and how fact books usually include photographs to help develop understanding and knowledge.

As part of this activity, P2 then worked alongside P7 pupils, reading together and talking about the different attributes of a fact book. Together, they selected three interesting facts from each book and shared them with the class. It was a lovely team-based learning experience, with older pupils supporting younger ones and everyone enjoying a shared love of reading and learning.
