This week in Primary 2, the children have been busy exploring non-standard measurement in a fun and practical way. Using a range of everyday items, they worked together to measure different objects and spaces around the classroom.
The boys and girls measured the length of books using bears, the length of the carpet using books, the width of the classroom using children, and the length of the table using cubes. They really enjoyed comparing their results and discovering how different tools can give different measurements.
This learning will continue at home in the coming week, as the children have been set a homework task to measure items around their house using their hand span. We look forward to seeing what they discover!
